MOT booking software for UK garages: booking sites, workshop systems and booking pages
“MOT booking software” covers three different things: comparison sites that send you bookings for a fee, workshop systems that run the whole garage, and booking pages that take bookings from people who already ring you. Here is what each one is, what it costs, and what it does, with a source for every figure.

The short answer
- If you want new customers
- BookMyGarage and Compare My Garage list you where drivers compare garages. BookMyGarage’s Accelerate is from £149 + VAT a month, plus a commission on each booking through the site; Compare My Garage’s listing is free, and its booking fee isn’t published.
- If you want to run the workshop
- Motasoft (from £55 a month ex VAT with MotasoftPay, £65 without) and Garage Hive (from £145 a month) publish prices; Autowork Online and TechMan are priced on application. These handle jobs, parts and invoices, and MOT reminders.
- If you miss calls under a car
- None of these says on its pages that it texts back a missed call. Keep Booked texts the caller straight back with your booking link, from £39 a month.
Booking site, workshop system or booking page
A booking site
BookMyGarage and Compare My Garage are where drivers compare garages and book one. They send you customers you didn’t have, and charge for it, by the booking or with a monthly package. The customer found you through them.
A workshop system
Motasoft, Garage Hive, Autowork Online and TechMan run the garage: job cards, parts, technical data, invoices, and MOT and service reminders from the vehicle’s history. Some take online bookings too. They cost more, and do much more than booking.
A booking page with text-back
Keep Booked does one part: when you can’t get to the phone, the caller gets a text with your booking link and books an MOT or a service into a slot that’s really free. It suits a garage whose customers already ring it, and it works beside a workshop system.

Where Keep Booked fits
Keep Booked is for a garage whose customers ring it. When you can’t answer, the caller gets a text straight back with your booking link, and books an MOT, a service or diagnostics at its real length, with their reg, into a slot that’s free. Voicemails arrive written down, and quotes follow themselves up, on Solo and Team.
It isn’t a booking site, so it won’t send you new customers, and there’s no fee per booking. It isn’t a workshop system: no job cards, parts or MOT history, and no MOT-due reminders.
Questions
Do I pay per booking?
On a booking site, yes: BookMyGarage takes a commission on each booking made through it, after the appointment, and Compare My Garage may charge a booking fee; neither publishes the amount. The workshop systems here list a monthly price and no booking fee, and so does Keep Booked.
Does Keep Booked connect to the DVSA?
No. Keep Booked books MOTs and services into your own diary, each at its real length, and asks for the registration when someone books. It doesn’t look up MOT history or send MOT-due reminders; the workshop systems here do.
Can I use it alongside my garage management system?
Yes. Keep Booked looks after the calls you miss and the bookings that follow; your workshop system keeps the jobs, parts and invoices. Bookings can go into a Google, Apple or Outlook calendar.
What does Keep Booked cost a garage?
Starter £39, Solo £75 or Team £149 a month, month to month, with no fee per booking. Voicemails written down and quotes are on Solo and Team, from £75 a month.
How we checked
We read every price on 6 October 2026 on the company’s own website, except any marked third-party: that company doesn’t publish the figure, so we’ve linked the site we took it from. Where a company doesn’t publish a price, the table says so and links the page we checked. Prices are given as each page gives them; where a page says a price is plus VAT or ex VAT, so do we. Where a company sells only after a demo or a call, the table says “price on application”. Service4Service’s join page now leads to Compare My Garage, so that’s the page we read.
Prices change, so check the company’s own page before you buy. Seen a figure that’s wrong or out of date? Email shane@keepbooked.co.uk or talk to us, and we’ll correct it.
